It has been a year! A year since my very first post on this blog. A year since the start of a new (and wonderful) chapter of my life. 🙂
What began as just an attempt at documenting my reading life, soon became my gateway to a whole new world, filled with new experiences, and the opportunity to connect with some very wonderful people, and make new friends.
This is a big deal for a person like me, who is essentially an introvert, and generally very guarded while making friends. For many years I believed that we only make ‘real’ friends till a certain age, and after that, the connections are not as strong.
The people I came across during this past year, have not only challenged this thought process of mine, but have also warmed my heart with their unselfish gestures of support and encouragement, and for that alone, I am extremely glad that I decided to blog.
The creative release that I initially sought through my blog, seems trivial in comparison to what I have gained in terms of perspective.
It has also been a year of learning. When I was planning on starting a blog, I had not given any thought to the technical side of blogging. For some (ignorant) reason, I had always assumed that all I had to do was hop on there, and write.
During the course of this year – I have learnt a lot about what it actually takes to start and maintain a blog (besides writing)- from hosting providers to themes to load times to ranks to social media integration – and this is really only the tip of the iceberg. Easily the most time-consuming hobby I have ever had, but also the most rewarding one.
Thank you everyone for a wonderful year, and for all the love, support and encouragement – it’s something I am very grateful for. Thank you. 🙂
