Hi there!
Welcome to Shanaya Tales, my bookish corner of the internet. I’m thrilled to have you here, and especially glad that you decided to come find out more about me!
Hello, I am Shantala, Book-Nerd in Chief at Shanaya Tales, this book blog of mine, where I talk about books, my reading life & share new reviews & recommendations every single week, in addition to engaging in random bookish banter on here (and on Instagram).
In a past life, equipped with an MBA in Finance, I used to work as an Equity Research Analyst.
But these days I spend my time juggling my full time job in Digital Marketing with blogging about books and food (different blog), being a wife to the best husband in the world, and mom to my son, who I’m convinced is the human version of the energizer bunny. Oh and not to forget, drinking all the tea in the world. No, really! I live for my steaming hot cup of adrak chai!
In 2019, I decided to level up on the Bookish Banter, by starting to send out a Monthly Bookish Newsletter – Bookmarked! (here is the origin story, if you are interested)
In Bookmarked, which goes out on the First Friday of Every Month, I talk about all things books – from the latest bookish news, to views from the fun bookish corners of the internet, while also sharing bookish resources & reviews (and deals!).
It’s a quick, hopefully informative, definitely fun bookish read that you can scan under 5 minutes to stay updated on some of the latest from the book world.
Sounds like something you’ll enjoy? SIGN UP HERE (or click on the Get Bookmarked image below). I’d love to have you join in the fun! I promise it will be just one email every month, as I would hate to spam you, because I hate spam as much you do!
Find me on Social Media!

Beat About the Book
Ah I know you :-). Always fun to read your bookish chatter and I enjoy your reviews – mostly because I often feel the same way about the books. As for the parenting and everyday-living bits that creep in – Well who can stop that? And they make for great reading too. See you around.

You seem to be a kindred spirit separated by miles and years too ( I must be as old as your mom). I love your breezy style and look forward to reading more of you.

Sorry for the extremely delayed response to this comment. I missed replying to this as I was caught up with AtoZ and then went on an extremely long vacation to India. Thank you for your kind words. I am so glad to have connected with you. Looking forward to staying in touch.

Hi Shanaya,
I was wondering if you would consider reviewing my YA fantasy novel based on Italian folklore? The title is: Beyond the Wicked Willow: Chronicles of a Teenage Witchslayer.
Thanks, and keep up the great work, you have a wonderful blog! : )
